The problem is the holes for the pedal would poke correct through the pad. Tin can someone mail service a film of gas pedal to foot pad. Thanks. :sSig_thankyou:

Thanks. From your pic. It looks like my carpeting is in the correct place. Now I HAVE THE QUESTION ON THE BRACKET Later LOOKING AT YOURS Because I Thought THE BRACKET WAS BOLTED ON TOP OF THE RUG Like I DID. My gtx came with a pad ,merely stupid me threw the ORIGINAL onetime carpet out ( you call up I would learn my lesson on throwing affair out by now ). Wonder if someone could post a pick with the pad. If not looks like holes will go through the pad and I will be done with it.

  6. Unless yous just changed the floor, the holes go covered with the rug and then lay it downward dainty, and so poke a hole through the exsisting holes and where they are is where they are:blob1:

Well I cant say this for sure ,but it looks like your rug should of come with a pad in the carpet after all the research I accept done on this. Besides. My gas pedal subclass mounted on top of the rug and yours does not which may lead y'all that it was replaced sometime.
    • mine looks similar your 1st pic. 69 coronet, new carpet with orig flooring.

      • Deplorable to chime in late Dave. My 68 RR had never been apart. The original rug had the accel pedal through the pad. I even saved it for reference when I installed new carpet yesterday. I did mensurate where the pedal wouold land without carpet in from the edge of the accell pin bracket. After I laid the carpet back in place and remeasured. It lands on the aforementioned spot, or corner of the heel pad. I'll try to post some pics later. Will get my Seats back this week also. Volition mail pics on my resto thread.

I researched this as well checking ebay for original unrestored cars and noted the gas pedal mounts on the meridian corner of the heal pad.
      • I just stumbled beyond this thread today, as I'k now trying to besides install a new pedal on new carpet. Looks like mine is going to wind up shut to where Daves' did, just I have an additional question:
The new pedal came with a rectangular cream gasket that fits around its' raised base.
I assume that goes against the floor, so the question is - does the pedal itself mount directly to the floor through a similarly-shaped rectangular hole cut in the carpet?
        TIA.
      • Yep, that'due south what I wound up doing likewise, using the foam gasket every bit an outline on where to cutting once I located the %^#@$ holes.
Slipped the foam gasket nether the carpet once the rectangle was cutting out of the carpeting and information technology all mounted only fine. Pedal wound up half on the mat, one-half on the rug.
        Thanks again.
      • Lamentable Dave, just saw this. You pedal looks right to my GTX.
